How Long Does Invisalign Treatment Take?

This depends on your case however there are some treatments that can take from as little as 6 months to complete. This can take slightly longer for more advanced cases, however, and is much easier than veneers and other types of treatment that involve drilling your teeth.

Can I Have Invisalign In Cambridge?

Yes. We operate an Invisalign Clinic from our brand new state of the art Cosmetic Dental Practice in Cambridge. It takes just a minute or so with our camera to simulate how your teeth will look when you have completed the treatment creating a before and after image.

Can I See A Before & After Picture Before I Have The Treatment

Yes, before you commit to the treatment we create a 3D simulation of your teeth that shows you exactly how they will move over the course of the treatment. This provides a perfect before and after and treatment time indicator so you know exactly what to expect before deciding if the treatment is right for you.

Then find out more about Invisalign, the clear way to beautiful straight teeth. This revolutionary ‘invisible brace’ system has helped millions of adult patients all over the World to finally get the smile they’ve been dreaming of.

It’s perfect for anyone who is looking to straighten their teeth quickly, yet with the ultimate in discretion and comfort.

Invisalign is more popular than ever before, particularly in teenagers and adults who are keen to improve their smile, but not so keen on letting everyone else know that they are having orthodontic work.

Some of our adult patients had their teeth straightened in childhood, but have been disappointed to find their smile has relapsed. Others have never had the opportunity for any type of tooth straightening in their childhood and, although they’ve thought about it for many years, have been put off by high costs, long treatment times and the embarrassment of highly obvious metal braces.

Invisalign really is the modern way to straighten teeth. The virtually invisible lightweight aligners are custom made from clear medical grade plastic. Strong yet lightweight this material is resistant to staining and odour, so it won’t discolour overtime.

Thanks to the slim-fit, your aligners will sit comfortably on the surface of your teeth, with absolutely no metal parts to rub or be seen. There is very little impact on your ability to talk or smile, allowing you to carry on life as normal.

The health of your teeth is protected too- simply remove your aligners when you eat or need to brush your teeth. It’s even possible to take them out for a few hours. Perhaps you’re going to a wedding or other special event? Do you have a work meeting, an important presentation or a job interview?

Well, provided you wear your aligners as often as you can the rest of the time, a few hours off now and again really won’t cause a problem. This is a truly convenient treatment.

With Invisalign you are also benefiting from a revolutionary 3D technology called Clincheck®. This allows us to track your treatment on screen before we even start- simply by taking some impressions of your teeth!

With this data, we can make your full set of aligners in advance storing them at the practice ready for you. Each one will need to be collected by you and worn for 2 weeks. At the end of this period, simply return the old aligner to us and collect your new one. Your teeth will be moved gradually over the next few months, resulting in a brand new smile you’ll be proud to show off.

There is no need for a lengthy fitting appointment, as you’d get with fixed braces. There is also no need for regular tightening appointments or frequent check-ups. The whole process is much more convenient, comfortable and hygienic too.

With treatment planned in advance, timings are often reduced (as is the cost), making Invisalign the ideal choice for many patients. The length of treatment differs on a case-by-case basis and can range anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. Average length is between 12 and 18 months.

We will fully check your teeth and gums before any treatment begins. It’s important to make sure they are all healthy and able to be moved. It may be necessary to take x-rays and photographs.

We will also take impressions of your teeth to produce a detailed treatment plan. At this point you can find out more about expected treatment times and costs. View your teeth on the computer. See how they look now, how they are expected to move and what they could look like following treatment.

Your aligners will be custom made and sent to the practice.

When you collect your first aligner we will show you how to use it, giving you instructions on how to look after it properly at home. Wear it for as long as possible every day for best effects (at least 22 hours each day). After 2 weeks, simply return to the practice to collect your next aligner.

We will schedule check-ups every few months so that we can check on the health of your teeth and the progress of treatment.

When treatment is finished, we will provide you with a set of retainers to help keep your new smile looking great.

Invisalign aligners can be used on top and bottom teeth. They are highly versatile and can be used to treat a range of issues- mild to more complex. If you think this could be the orthodontic treatment you are looking for please call us today for a free no obligation consultation. We’d love to give you more information and advice.

The Clear Appliances (Invisalign)

There are 3 types of Invisalign

Invisalign® i7
Invisalign® Lite
Invisalign® Full

Invisalign® Full

These are a very popular choice. They are easy to use and the results are usually very good. But patient should be aware that some movements are not achievable without Fixed Appliances.

It is important to remember that when you are choosing where to have your Invisalign treatment that you choose a dentist who is experienced with these appliances.

As Invisalign treatment is limited to certain cases it may be necessary to wear a fixed appliance to complete the final result. In this case choosing a dentist who only does Invisalign may mean having to then go to see an Orthodontist.

Dr Konstantinos (Kostas) Tzamalas is qualified to provide The Full Range of Orthodontic Treatments and therefore would be able to complete your treatment.

A better smile is closer than you think

Invisalign® i7

Introducing Invisalign i7, the new addition to the Invisalign treatment family which offers an easy and convenient solution specifically designed for minor tooth movement. Invisalign i7 provides results in as little as three months, without the inconvenience of traditional fixed braces, so you can finally treat that slight blemish to your otherwise beautiful smile.

Who is it for?

Invisalign i7 was developed as a solution for people who require minor tooth correction, whether adult or teenager. It can treat that slight overcrowding or annoying crooked front tooth that has bothered you for some time. People who had orthodontic treatment in the past may find that their teeth have shifted over time, leaving them once again feeling self-conscious about their crooked smile. Invisalign i7 can help by providing a series of clear, nearly invisible, removable aligners that fit easily and discreetly into your lifestyle.

How it works?

Invisalign aligners straighten your teeth by applying pressure on specific teeth at different times. Individually manufactured for your teeth alone, they are worn in two week increments. As you replace each aligner with the next set your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position prescribed by your dental practitioner. Invisalign i7 is a simple option, for minor correction needs with a typically shorter treatment time than the standard Invisalign® treatment , allowing you to finally fix those annoying little flaws.

Unlike other orthodontic techniques, a treatment with Invisalign® uses unique ClinCheck® computer software which generates a start-to-finish digital model or virtual 3D treatment plan which complements the professional judgment of your dental practitioner. This digital model demonstrates the series of movements the teeth may go through to get from their current position to the desired final position. This allows you to view your own virtual plan and see how your smile may look once the treatment has been completed.

Invisalign® Lite

Invisalign Lite is ideal for patients who require minor orthodontic work such as crooked teeth, overcrowding, small gaps, positioning and alignment. It may also be suitable for those who have had previous orthodontic work and found that their teeth have moved slightly over time.

Features of Invisalign Lite include:
•Almost invisible aligner trays which fit over the teeth
•Aligners changed every two weeks
•Total treatment time of around seven months
•Suitable for mild and some moderate tooth alignment problems
•Trays can be removed for eating and cleaning
